IFEAT 2019 was held from September 28th – October 4th at the Moulia Hotel in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. With over 1300 delegates it is the largest IFEAT ever. IFEAT was attended by many members of EOPAA as well as Technical Secretary, Ashley Dowell who presented a lecture on the Australian Essential Oil Industry: History and Emerging Trends. Although the lecture program was reduced for IFEAT 2019 there were great presentations from Andrew Brown of Quintis, regarding their work with Santalum spicatum (Western Australian Sandalwood) and Santalum album (Indian Sandalwood) and Ron Mulder of Dutjahn showcasing the development of their joint venture with local indigenous communities with S. spicatum production from the central desert region of Western Australia. Doreen Petersen of the American College of Healthcare Sciences talked about the clinical aromatherapy and biological potential of Australasian essential oils and Dr. Prabodh Satyal of the Aroma Plant Research Center, USA, provided an overview of Himalayan medicinal plants and their biological activities. EOPAA members Golden Grove Naturals had an excellent display stand which showcased the Australian Native Oils which they produce.
