In 2001, Dee-Ann founded Down Under Enterprises Inc. in the United States to distribute the tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) essential oil from her family’s plantations in New South Wales, based on the strategic principles of strong Customer Service and Direct-from-Family Plantations, yet with a local US warehouse supply. The business acquired new customers rapidly, many requesting Dee-Ann to supply other Australian native ingredients. The product portfolio grew and the customers grew to be the “who’s who” of natural products and many personal care multi-nationals in North America.
Prior to her life at Down Under Enterprises, Dee-Ann was a Management Consultant with Deloitte Consulting, based in Minneapolis MN USA, where she specialised in Strategic Sourcing and Change Management. She worked on, and often managed, projects with clients including Wells Fargo, Hewlett Packard, Banc One West, and other US-based organisations.
Dee-Ann was Vice President at Bankers Trust (Sydney) for four years, preceded by a five year term at Macquarie Bank. Her specialty was interest rate products and their derivatives.
Dee-Ann holds a Masters of Commerce in Finance and Marketing from University of New South Wales, an undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, and an Associate Diploma in Applied Finance from the Australian Securities Institute.
Dee-Ann is the recipient of the 2015 NSW Premier’s Award for Women in International Business.
